Hi, I am a NYS Certified appraiser. Got my appraiser license in 2004 and certified in 2007. I applied for my NYS Certified General Appraiser License in May 2020 and was rejected as I require a Bachelor's Degree or higher. I was told I am grandfathered in since I receive my Certified License in 2007. Does any one know anything about this? Where I can look this up to verify this and re-submit my application.

You were told by whom? I believe when they implemented the new regulations requiring a bachelor's degree, you had a finite window to apply and be grandfathered in. This window is no longer in play.

Do you know the date it expired?

The grandfathering you are referring to expired on January 1, 2015. I am well aware of it, because I made sure that I had everything wrapped up well before then. I have the degree, by my issue was that I would have had to take all of the appraisal courses again because I took them so long ago.

The grandfathering is no longer applicable. The long and short of it is that you must have a Bachelor's degree to qualify for a CG credential; no exceptions.
