Hello,
I'm currently looking for another supervisory appraiser in the DFW region. If anyone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I have a decent amount of experience, very coachable as well as an independent learner.
Also, if you know a good way to get more hours as a trainee, please provide that information.

As far as I know, the only way to get more hours as a trainee is to do more appraisal work.

I don' think TALCB has formalized a PAREA path, but you might want to give them a shout and see what the timeline is for enacting PAREA as an alternative experience route. I think the AI is pretty close to having a PAREA program completed, so once TALCB enacts it, and AI has it completed, that may be a way for you to get your experience credits...

Curious. I know here you can do some part of your experience sans a client - check with the Tx board and see if they allow this and if they allow the trainee to do work on their own without a signatory.

I fail to see how that will give an appraiser the proper experience to complete typical appraisal assignments in the real world.

Thank you.
Although in the early days, I was able to do a lot of small assignments "on my own" and no signature required. They wanted to look at a couple and a couple where I did have signers and their complaint seemed to be I was doing an awful lot of non-residential...but that wasn't against the rules. Much of the regulations are really built around the residential property valuation system and forms. I was using narratives almost from day 1. (and not DAY ONE, for all you that remember that company)

Well, if we're using the current system as a basis for training 'well equipped' appraisers, the bar isn't all that high... :)

and not having a Supervisor does the same. Dadgum if ya do and dadgum if ya don't.
