Texas AG exemption affects loan

Ag Exemption

It is my understanding, and my past experience, that if you have 40 acres of land and it is has an ag exemption, the 1 ac homesteaded site will not have an ag exemption on it.

Have never run into this problem, and this is the first I have heard of it.

Also, it is extremely difficult if not impossible to get an ag exemption on small tracts of land anyway. I got an ag exemption for my friend who's 5 acres adjoined ours though. The pipeline company came through and put in a gas pipe, and screwed the fence all up. My cows were wandering all over my buddy's place, so we just opened the gate, and I started mowing it for him.....he had no livestock. In the winter, I fed them on his 5 acres as it had good wind breaks to the north. The county approved his ag exemption because I was "leasing" his land for cattle use.....payment was upkeep of the site.

But back to the homestead issue. That will take some more research I'm thinking.
