Some Wal-Mart customers soon will be able to sample a new discount item: Walmart's own brand of wine.

The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of Modesto, California, to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-5 range. While wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of Walmart brand wine into their shopping carts, there is a market for cheap wine, said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. She said: "The right name is important."

    So, here we go:

The top 13 suggested names for Walmart Wine:

    13. Chateau Traileur Parc

    12. White Trashfindel

    11. Big Red Gulp

    10. Grape Expectations

    9. Domaine Wal-Mart "Merde du Pays"

    8. NASCARbernet

    7. Chef Boyardeaux

    6. Peanut Noir

    5. Chateau des Moines

    4. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!

    3. World Championship Riesling

    2. Sam's Shiraz

And the number 1 name for Wal-Mart Wine ...

    1. Nasti Spumante

In concern for the homeless people. I hope the bottles will have screw off caps and Walmart cashiers will provide brown wrapper bags for quick and convenient consumption in a nearby alley ways and parks. " God Bless"

Never been able to tell much difference between the cheap stuff and the expensive stuff anyway.

I'm more of a wine cooler type. Couldn't tell you what a good wine is supposed to be like. Guess I'll just set around and drink my Boones' Farm and ignore the wine snobs. :D

    Pam --

That is really funny. My favorite is Peanut Noir. Kinda makes ya thirsty.

Here comes Wal-Mart wiping out all the little liquor stores dependent on the pint trade.

Bet they'll have some second thoughts when they try to control the environs outside their stores and the winos pestering their custmers and pissing in view of their customers and employees.

Also, now Wal-Mart will have to open at 8 o'clock in the morning to fill this niche market!

Wonder if France is gonna bid on a piece of this action.
