What is the new deal with apex 5

I have Medina 4.3 I bought the lifetime (2) licenses a few years ago. Now I may want to upgrade to Apex 5 and they are telling me that I purchase a new license at $350 and $150. Or there is a yearly fee of $99 +$30 subscription.

My email about #5 from APEX said "free to current subscribers" but I use the $10.00 per event approach rather than a contract. Depends on how many times you use Apex in a year.

Call them, see what they have to say.
