Which tool belt?

I have one of those metal clipboards that are about 1 1/2" thick and open up. Im there I keep a map book, fatmax, camera, in the front part of it it holds 3-4 pens and business cards. On the top I keep my inspection sheets about 10-15 of them. Nothing else needed on my inspections so far. If I can't bounce the fatmax off the outside walls, I measure from the interior and add a little to the measurements. I wish I could say I carried ladders, flashlights, 100' tapes (never used one), etc. but have not found the need for them yet.

God, appraisers ARE geeks, it looks like! :rof: (me included...)

Tool belts? Fanny packs? NOOOOO way, I'm just not going to do it!

I connect an aluminum mountain climbing carabiners clip ($1.00 at Home Depot) to my tape, Disto, and camera. Each clips onto a belt loop around my waist. I pop a small mag light flash light in my pocket, and my Treo 650 (which has the lock box key software in it) in my other pocket. Now that IS cool! The chicks love it! It is the newest fashion statement.

I know a guy who wears a fishing vest, and places his "tools" into all of the little pockets. Sorry, I just couldn't do that, either.

Mr. Goodpasture....a BELLY Bag...I had this preconceived notion of you being a manly man.....a guy dring a Ford F-150 with 4WD, gun rack in the back, hitch on the back with a wench that would pull anything out of a ditch......
Anne's gonna kick your butt for talking about her like that.:fiddle:

Call her off...us Iowa folk aren't too bright.

I use a laptop bag. A big luggage type with many pockets and spaces. Everything goes in there. It stays in the car and just take out what I need for the inspection. Can keep legal size notes/folders, papers, forms, pens, pencils, tape, hockey puck (good luck charm), camera, spare batteries, spare camera, spare batteries for spare camera, sonic measuring thingy (for interiors), biz cards/brochures, breath mints, old french fries that are lodged too deep to reach, washcloth, spare magazines (full), flashlight, hand sanitizer, flea collars (2x), phone charger for car adapter, rubber gloves, voice recorder, maps, calculator, .380, resumes, receipts, really old Ricola (1x), clipboard, and oh yeah...if I need it...a laptop. Ask about the Apprais-o-matic webgear I'm developing!

I have been using this vest for almost a year and am very happy with it. Despite its intended use as a concealed carry vest, it has many large and deep pockets ideal for most of the gadgets we carry. The only thing it would not accomodate is an open real tape, but I use a disto and HP4700 so thats not a problem for me. It is fairly lightweight as its name implies, and is comfortable up to about 90 degrees

I also carry (but leave in the car) - at all times - gloves - for cold days - rubber gloves for REO - two flash lights extra batteries for both camera and flashlight - a battery charger - hand sanitizer, widex wipes, extra pencils&pens, tissues, roll of paper towels, boots and a bright yellow jacket ( my kids call it my appraisers jacket!!) - let me see what else - ok - geek maybe - but always prepared!!!!

Y'all fellas wear masks, tights, and capes with your utility belts?

Geek Alert!!!!
