Go with the verbiage that is generally acceptable in your area. I lived 10 years in Virginia, and yes, there are somethings you can say in Pennsylvania that would be differently Interpreted in other places,

I am the master of my home therefore every bedroom I sleep in is the masters’ bedroom, unless the wife and cat are home. Then I subservient to them in their minds eye. I must answer to their whims and wishes and let them think they hold dominion over me.

I label, and refer to the "main bedroom" and "main Bath". It gets the point across without offending the inevitable person who takes exception to anything just to waste everyones time.

I was probably in the same class. I've used "M Bedroom" and "M Bath", fits on the drawing better. I do have a master/slave hard drive setup in my computer.

Actually, when "Fair Lending" first came out, there was some comment and push regarding "Master Bedroom". Clarifications came out that this was not considered disciminatory.

Now, re MBR, there is a significant market differential in my markets if the MBR is upstairs or downstairs. Actually marketed as a positive being downstairs, especially with an aging population. Also, we have a 4 BR home. While we have a MBR, the bath is small and the closet is not a walk-in. We are going to remodel, taking one of the bedrooms into a master closet and enlarging the bath. 4 bedrooms are more excessive now, with the shrinking family size.

BR 1, 2, 3, 4 , FB1, FB2, HB, works well and offends no one. (MBR typically has an additional "sitting/reading" area. MBR Suite typically has BR & Sitting Room Areas plus private bath. (in this neck o'the woods).
