Is it just me or is ACI getting real buggy?

We are having a lot of problems with ACI. Crashing when we add/delete pages, crashing when loading photos, just crashing. It seems to have gotten much more buggy. Is it just us?

Agree, ACI crashes every time a page is added or deleted.

it crashes about every other time i open a file

I emailed them with a similar problem that I had. They told me to run aciweb with a special code. It had something to do with a windows 10 update. You might want to email support. It was happening on a computer I don't use a lot, so I haven't had a chance to see if it corrected the problem.

VENT OPEN

How could ACI get any buggier? I've been a user of ACI since it was owned by Polaroid and it is about as obsolescent as the old owner's technology. It was pretty bad back before UAD was inflicted on us all, but since then time it's simply laughable. Can you write a normally formatted narrative into the UAD fields without getting a red field that stops you cold? Not yet, they're still working on it. And how about being able to use their pathetic spell check (what happens to those words that i "add" to the spell check? Where DO they go?) within these fields? Hey, it's only been 10 years, whaddaya want for your measly $600 a year?

Why have I stayed with ACI? A combination of loathing the prospect of learning a new system on the fly, the fact that it IS a standard of the industry, general inertia and lately, my impending retirement.

But the problem seems obvious. This is a program that was written with some old tech proprietary development software which, contrary to us appraisers, ACI does not need to pay a recurring fee to use. Who knows what it's written in, COBOL?, FORTRAN? And I'll bet the only programmer who could fix anything left or died at his desk long ago. It obviously doesn't use even MS Basic as it has such an ugly interface. So the management has managed to spend years keeping their budgets low by avoiding the investment needed in entirely scrapping their legacy garbage. While in the long run they would probably save money, that's not how modern corporation works.

VENT CLOSED

i swear i spend 8 hours a day watching ACI say 'not responding'

We just switched to clickforms so tired of ACI and their condescending tech support
