It's been a while since I have had any close Muslim friends and I don't doubt your characterization of them. You have to keep in mind though that we haven't treated Arab immigrants to this country very well this century because we have been engaged in wars with a substantial portion of them during the entirety of it. They are bound to sense that and grumble about us behind our backs if they make it over here. In contrast, when I lived amongst them I was one of the most popular members of the party circuit, having an American friend at that time was a "status symbol" for them and I was invited to all the parties, weddings and feasts and always shown a great time. There is nothing about being "Muslim" that differentiates them from us, people respond kindly to smiles and unkindly to frowns.

You missed the target with that shot as there is not a bit of anti-Semitism in my bones, both my granddaughter and great-grandson are followers of the Jewish faith and I love them dearly. That was in the early 90s right after Desert Storm One when Americans were respected overseas. I was a government contractor working for the military. When the Soviet Union fell apart they quickly saw no need for what I was doing at the time. At least I was able to get many good years out of this line of work before something similar happens to us all.

A complete fantasy he said however it is worrisome to him that it's being disseminated by serious people highly placed in the Russian government. The Russians have been putting out more videos than Netflix recently with troop movements and fake videos like the ones featured on that website. The problem with the massacre story is I heard it talked about two days ago from a US government official as a possible "false flag operation" to justify a Russian military response. They have been preparing that story for some time (months). And here I see it regurgitated today on our forum by a follower of Alex Jones. Everybody on this thread should go to https://southfront.org/ and see what Russian propaganda looks like.

It doesn't help that Ukranian special paramilitary forces training civilians for combat right now have a documented history of repeating WW2-era anti-semitic tropes as well as adopting the logo of the WW2 Ukrainian SS division. That doesn't give the Russians a "warm fuzzy" exactly. There are some really bad people there, and the government is just as corrupt (if not more than) the Russian government.

Remind me again what our interest is in this local dispute that goes back centuries?

After the disgraceful way we left Afghanistan our interest lies in showing the world that we still believe in the world order that was established after World War II. We have been the guarantors of the principal that international borders are not changed by force. International borders can be changed by the United Nations, not by Russian tanks. Russia has legitimate security concerns however Putin has hijacked those for political reasons and Russia is going to be made substantially less secure as a result. The United States should never back down in the face of aggression, we go where we want to go and we will leave when we feel like it. We don't leave at the barrel of a gun. That's an important principle for the world to be reminded of. We get by with things like that because we typically have good reasons to be doing what we are doing, we don't seek to occupy or plunder other countries and everybody knows it. Nations across the globe welcome the security and stability that US facilities and forces provide. All that was a somewhat defensible statement until the second Gulf War anyway. Regardless, if the world watches us cower in the face of Vladimir Putin they will all seek accommodations with our adversaries because they will have given up on us. Rand Paul's isolationist dream will come true. I hate that fascists have risen again on the continent of Europe complete with detestable anti-Semitism propagated by people who could be enticed into Satanism or witchhunts just as easily. A very unfortunate and untimely resurrection of the Ukrainian SS "on our side" I agree and I would have our "psyops division" clean that up in a hurry. Vladimir Putin is the most aggressive fascist currently on the planet however and he must be "reeducated" before we can "reeducate" the fascists from our side.
