I've had pictures removed (including license, maps, survey, and anything added as a pdf.) a workfile was deleted, adjustments were deleted right before report was sent, sketch data was removed, signatures aren't showing up. Today I looked at a file that had a ton of work completed on Friday and now is missing most of what I did last week. Tech support is not very helpful. I'm thinking about changing software. Any suggestions?

It may not be a Total Problem I dont use total but I certainly would not switch in the middle of a problem as it may not be Total Problem but a computer problem -- Has your computer been attacked with Mal Ware ? Is some other program running in back ground ? What did Tech Support Tell tell you ? ?

They admitted to an issue with photos being deleted, but I have been on the phone for many many hours and they can't seem to identify any other problems with my computer.

Are they really deleted or being forwarded to a service Like Drop Box or other back up service ? Have you done all the easy stuff Like Shut It Down wait 60 seconds and restart it ? Had this just started after a new Total Update started this entire Problem--Almost anytime I have problems its from a New Appraisals Software update and they love to do them on 3 day weekends HAVE YOU LOOKED IN THE AF UNDER TOTAL- BRADFORD Etc ISSUES being Reported -- Where if other users are having the same or similar problem and how they resolved it ? Did a Windows 10 update running in background -when you close out all programs is yellow light running non-stop ?

I haven't been experiencing issues like that however I was curious if you could show tech support an older "timeline version" of your report that was completed right before you sent it? In theory you should be able to go back to the version that is automatically saved on your computer just prior to your signature and recover all your work. The proof should be in the timeline file (*.ztl). And then get a response from Alamode in writing to show to your clients who might have received erroneous reports.

Geez...I am glad I don't have to deal with software problems... But I am wondering if this is a winders problem...Win 11 is giving a lot of people fits.

My Windows 11 and Total problems have recently disappeared with the newest updates. It used to crash all the time, and trying to open the appraisal desktop would instead open a duplicate copy of the report were are working. Can't believe I put up with that for so long.

Anyone upgrading from windows 10, make sure you do a CLEAN INSTALL, where all the programs are removed and you start with a fresh copy of the operating system. Your files will be saved, but you will have to reinstall programs. This fixed my problems that were separate from Total and made my computer more responsive. If you already installed Windows 11 and you didn't do a clean install, you can search for "Reset This PC" and it does the same thing. You will have to reinstall your programs, but it's worth it.

wow, a clean install is a day long process re installing ever program you had before, including total. and if you have never done that before, you might shoot yourself for missing something. make sure you have all your codes for reinstalling everything back. a clean install will always fix a windows causing problem. i would first run windows SFC / Scannow. it may find corrupted window files that it will correct. sometimes that solves it. a clean install is a nuclear option.
i've found most total problem were being caused by some unknown window problem. a window problem can be like finding a needle in a haystack. if you are not fixing windows literate, you have a hard way to go.

Back in the day, yes, but now it takes less than an hour. Windows saves your settings and installs drivers automatically. Most programs you need can be installed all at once in the background with ninite.

ninite? wow, i have learned some new tech. fixing computer problems is as important as appraisal problems. do you use the free version, or the paid version. i personally miss doing my appraisals on a commodore 64.
