Crappy Hybrid Inspection

I believe I read over at the Appraiser Blogs something about the State has to to do something outside the Appraisal Licensing Board towards the AMC.

This story is evolving. Rats are running for cover.

The AGA is getting deep into this. Res Appraisers around the country should join that Organization

I think we are moving fast towards Federal Licensing.

I don't think it's all that difficult to measure a house. Who's to say some inspectors are better than some skippy appraisers?

Have you ever tried to train an appraiser? Most people can’t measure a home. At Christmas, grab a nephew of yours and give them a tape measure to measure your home. See what happens:rof:

Well, since my nephew is only 3 years old, yeah, I see what you mean. You're assuming most hybrid inspectors don't know what they're doing, I say otherwise.

All I know is 20 years ago my mentor tried to train about a half dozen people before me. none of them last longer than two or three months because they could not measure home. :rof:

And I think that’s one reason why real estate agents call me to measure homes for them. I certainly don’t want them measuring homes for me.

Those people were morons, a fourth grader could do it.

That’s because you’re a professional. Most accountants, think a moron can do taxes on their own. But most people can’t.

It ok being an expert in your field and understanding that what you do has value.

I have to admit, I have seen many struggle with measuring a house. I have a friend that do this day after 30 years in the business still hates second story homes because he hates to measure them. I remember when training him, he was like Don Knotts with the clipboard and pencil trying to sketch the house.
