Plenty of "mere possession felons" in this country with arrest records, but no prison time.Almost no convicts go to prison for mere possession.

So? How about all the "old alcoholic appraisers" who wouldn't be out in the field today had they been given periodic sobriety tests? Many old appraisers I know are Pot Heads so if they had been given drug tests none would be out in the field today.
And some were arrested, with the charges being later dismissed. However, those arrests remained on their record. And affected the rest of their lives. That's the nature of plea bargains. The criminal who committed the offense is shown leniency.
In my state, multiple misdemeanor DUI or a felony DUI convictions is one of the offenses that can prevent an applicant from getting an appraisal, or can result in a licensee getting their cert revoked. That's always been the case here. So? How about all the "old alcoholic appraisers" who wouldn't be out in the field today had they been given periodic sobriety tests?
Sux to be them. Life just isn't fair for drug users. But hey, many of these states are decriminalizing and even legalizing the offenses that some people are simply incapable of refraining from committing, so that'll make things much better. Right? And some were arrested, with the charges being later dismissed. However, those arrests remained on their record. And affected the rest of their lives.
Yes, I'm aware of that. GW was just taking unkind pot shots at pot smokers. In my state, multiple misdemeanor DUI or a felony DUI convictions is one of the offenses that can prevent an applicant from getting an appraisal, or can result in a licensee getting their cert revoked. No too many although 24 hours with no booze and your good to go-- but POT TNC can show up for months in hair and skin etc. I know when Billy was on opioids he had to get a drug test every 120 days and if they noted any TC he would not get his pills. So he just drank beer and two days before test he was good. So? How about all the "old alcoholic appraisers" who wouldn't be out in the field today had they been given periodic sobriety tests?
No I have no issues with PotYes, I'm aware of that. GW was just taking unkind pot shots at pot smokers.
Smug conceitedness, is not a virtue. Compassion and understanding are, however.Sux to be them. Life just isn't fair for drug users.
