  • Participants complete all qualifying education prior to beginning the program.
  • When complete, the participant is eligible for up to 100% of experience credit for Licensed and Certified Residential credentials.
  • What is the cost to take the AI PAREA program?

AI will provide the cost once it has been determined.

"The Appraisal Institute announced today that the Appraiser Qualifications Board has provided approval of AI’s Practical Applications of Real Estate Appraisal program for the licensed residential path."

I am curious why they only mentioned the licensed residential path being approved by the AQB.

They’re a long way from approving it in most states. Regardless of what some of the threatened boards have said. States have to change their appraisal laws. That doesn’t happen overnight.

Not that it really matters, no one is going to get into this profession until the AMC model is changed.

Also heard someone estimate that it will cost 10K with checks payable to the appraisal institute. Nobody’s going to pay 10 grand to get into this profession.

These guys all scratch each others backs. Swamp behavior right in front of your eyes.

I agree. Let's include certified general approach. Half of their members have tried to kill the Certified Residential profession

Don't get me going. I can get real ugly. I will put on point I am a past non designated member of AI.

Like my sister has great health insurance but she has been a teacher for like 40 years. She is also in a teacher's union. Don't play with the teachers' union or my sister. She knows me. I know her. She is tough. I am way more tough.

It is my understanding that it has been adopted, to some degree, in about 40 states.

I have seen a preview. Pretty impressive. Cost is a hurdle, but I am not sure that it is any bigger challenge financially than the current process is. Time will tell.

Personally, I think it has great potential for use in CE as well as in the main PARREA program

PA changed their rules in less that a week back when AQB pulled back the requirements for CR a few years ago.

I think it looks pretty good myself and I never had an issue with it

But who would want to become a res license appraiser now (or stay in it ), between lower future volume due to Waivers displacing a large volume of work, low pay via AMC's handling a good percent of the business combined with cheaper appraisal products? Why would any younger or mid-aged person of any talent or ability want to do it go through the training now? Some imo will train for it based on misleading information or ignorance and be sorely disappointed when they encounter the reality.
