UAD 3.6

I've searched and searched but do not find any posts or answers about if a desktop computer can still be utilized or do you have to go to a mobile device?
Ask your software provider.
I assume that the desktop computer can be used.
I plan to call Alamode next week and ask about several other things, along with that.

On fannies site the FAQs say you can still use a desk top

Desktop will still be used. The mobile app will be able to include more data in the field though.

I was sent an article from Dustin Harris about the 3.6, and unless I misunderstood, he doesn’t think the new format is going to fully happen. He’s correct that it has suffered tons of delays in the past.

They are really pushing to using a mobile device. That said, you can still use your desktop. If you're with alamode you can check this out.

I tried using total for mobile and just could not get used to it. I'm a clipboard, pencil person with a digital camera, Disto, and measuring wheel Lol I can't imagine lugging around a tablet as well.

That being said, I really would like to use the mobile phone measuring app though. Like Cubicasa. At this point in my life, I really don't care if it's dead balls on accurate either. If PDC's can mismeasure and it's okay for the GSE's.....so can I.

Yes, you can still use paper and pencil and then do it on a desktop. But you'll need a good internet connection because its gonna be "on the cloud" (at least for ACI and Clickforms).

With my pen, graph paper, camera, and measuring tool, I can go into a house in less than 10 minutes for nonFHA appraisals and be out of there. Much faster than using mobile device in the house.
I personally don't want an appraiser loitering in my house for 30 minutes.
Get in and get out. Within 10 minutes, I can understand the characteristics of subject and go concentrate finding the right comps.

I hope this is true.

There’s nothing easier than using the Total app for the inspection. Saves a ton of time and uploads right to the desktop program. Once you’ve done it, there’s no going back.
