Why the New UAD is DOA

Below is the pricing matrix for Freedom. I remember seeing a comparison analysis for pricing amongst the offerings, and as I recall, they're all gonna be somewhere in this range.

Yeah, he doesn't even have a 2.6 street ready offering. What's the chance of a full mobile app and a stable 3.6 platform ready to go any time soon?

I hope you're right about the others, I'm hearing different.

If anyone's offering is more than $1200 a year, they're not gonna fare well...

And if they’re at $1,200 a year or under, they’re not gonna fare well either. Cotality\Alamode may be able to burn through millions and stay stable, the other software providers I don’t think so.

My prediction: If a competitor truly finds a better mousetrap way to integrate 3.6, ALAMODE would acquire them. Buy them out. ALAMODE is owned by Cotality and has the deep pockets to do that.

Freedom or other small operations - they sound like they are imitating ALAMODE/what exists and adding promises about functionality that might or might not be true. And what happens if a small operation folds in the middle of the night and disappears?

I heard that Cotality wasn't changing their pricing matrix. That's the software I currently have. Their website doesn't mention anything, though.

I'm sure that's correct. The 'small' guys typically build to be sold. And the only three with the means to gobble up competition are Clickforms, Total, and ACI. Maybe that's why they haven't brought their product to market yet. Who knows.

That’s what they claim, I spoke personally with the chief appraiser and that’s what he said. But consider the company: Have they kept the pricing of AppraisalPort the same? Have they kept the pricing of Marshall and Swift the same? Have they kept the pricing of anything the same?

If I were a betting man, they may wait to try to gain market share. But anyone who thinks Cotality isn’t going to raise prices is living in a dreamworld.

For younger p
yes for younger people who grew up texting most can touch letters and boxes much faster than clicking a mouse. For older folks with less vision and old joints no it's much slower and more mistakes.

Yes *BUT*

In terms of actually UNDERSTANDING what they are doing, appraising-wise, the ratio of 'functionality' here is exactly reversed. ;)

I view these threads with more and more detachment as I will not be participating in "The UAD 3.6 Abomination". Starting to feel sorry for the folks who are trying to come to grips with it. But there's another aspect to this.

This little corner of our business reality is actually also a window, a microcosm if you will, illustrating the ongoing decline and coming end of civilization itself as we know it.

Learning, experience and wisdom - the traditional pillars of human civilization - are being de-valued and thrown down by the wayside .

In their place, a new "Tech Barbarian Age" slouches into being (and not so slowly).

[Sorry if this flies over anyone's head on here, but it is what it is].
