Double the Property Tax?

That reminds me, I better pay my property tax coming due.
For one of my commercial properties, the assessed value went down!
Rarely do I remember paying less tax than year before.
You are already late on the 1st installment, but renters don't pay it so you are golden.

Except when you buy a home it is reassessed at current market
Yes, the new homeowner will have to pay higher property tax compared to the older homeowners in CA but afterwards no more than 2% increase except for future voter approved tax increases.
For one long time homeowner in SF, the current property tax is about $2,700. If sold to a new purchaser at $2,000,000, the property tax can be about $22,000.

My memory not as good and I have hard time remembering if I paid the 1st installment for all my properties. Hate to be late and pay penalties.
Have to pay so much taxes. You don't have to worry since you have one less property to worry about.

MOVE TO CALIFORNIA WITH PROPERTY TAXES LIMITED BY PROPOSITION 13
Move to Arkansas or Oklahoma and your $1,000,000 1400 SF 30-year-old house will buy 2 new homes with 2,200 SF, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and leave you about 300,000 bucks to spend on whatever you want...and your property taxes will be under $2,400 a year.

If you bought a house in CA in 1976, homes there have appreciated twice as much as homes in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
And property tax kept low all these years.

This morning I was trying to figure out which property insurance was coming for renewal to pay the bill.
The insurance company sends the bill to be paid but not the address. I went online and couldn't find it.
I was to the point of calling the insurance company to hear specifically which of my property was coming due.
Your lucky Charles that you don't have that problem.

California has the 5th highest overall tax burden in the country. Arkansas is 18th and Oklahoma is 42nd. Don't forget about all of the "hidden" taxes in the form of all of the additional fees that you always complain about that California has

We're talking about property tax. If you include all costs in ownership, then I suspect Florida would have highest insurance rates.

I have three less and counting, but, my checking account is huge.
