The New Appraisal Industry

At least in the old days there were enough mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers who were okay with a MV that was not deal friendlyu when justified.
Everyone's experience is different.

Mostly this:

"Deal-Friendliness"
Quite possibly so, but I am the proverbial "baby who's getting drowned in the bathwater" because lending clients who appreciate my involvement aren't permitted to request my subsequent services. And despite the inherent limitations of being an Indepedent Contractor, I'm also a "Stakeholder" in the process who consequently deserves consideration rather than blanket ostracaization based upon an ugly assumption that I will do wrong if given an opportunity, under the guise of "Independence" AKA "**** Public Trust." However, that's cool.... because if it was my intent to deceive the system, I will find a way to do so, more egregiously so if necessary.

the names have all changed since you hung around...but the dream remains and has turned around...who needs a waiver...yeah they get a waiver...we tease him alot cause we got him on the spot :rof:

Our industry changed and it isn't going back now that AMCs have captured the client base. Below is a video promoting PDCs. If you can stomach the propaganda, this is the only growth area being pushed by those who claim they are pro-appraiser.

See you there!

perspective on valuation for REALTORS® who are agents, appraisers, or both. They’ll cover why accuracy matters, how appraisal alternatives and property eligibility affect outcomes, and what REALTORS® need to know about today’s valuation policies.

I find it interesting that so many people that glam onto the appraisal industry.... are not appraisers.

They see an opportunity to make money off the skill set and licenses of appraisers.... to the detriment of appraisers.

Worth quoting.

Hate to say it but its been going on in the business world forever. Find a place to squeeze in, bleed off the easy profit, get rich. Take the easy money and let others have the scraps, the remnant low margin or difficult odds and ends.

Ever heard of Amazon or Walmart? Just wait until Amazon buys out the AMC's.

The people you are calling "lenders" are not lenders. Stop calling them that. They're sales people, just like the people who sell cars and homes and vacuums and solar.

They have no legitimate business even touching an appraisal report until after the (actual) lender makes their decision and distributes the borrower's copy to them. .

You think there’s some mountaintop with men of high ethics and morals that work as “lenders”? The better the salesman, the higher up you go.
