Upgrade to Windows 11

Windows 11 run best on recent hardware. Older computers using Windows 11 are asking for potential problems.
Computers are cheap and we should upgrade.

There are certain times they run like really good specials on new ones. Black Friday is usually one of those times. If you watch a dealer online or in stores, you can save some money on a new one.

Cyber Monday, Christmas..........sometimes they just run specials to clear inventory.

Like on a returned one, it carries the same warranty as a brand new one that was not returned. If one has been returned, they just wipe it clean and sell it again.

The new ones don't come with all the free software the old ones used to come with either.

The only thing I had to do was uninstall the OneDrive app,
How do you keep it from reinstalling OneDrive on an update?

I have a very old Win 7 machine I still use with a photo scanner and it works perfect.

My 10 machines work well too. This piece of crap I am using as a recliner computer is scheduled to demolition by .45-70 soon.

REVO Uninstaller Pro is the way to go. I believe there's a four week free trial. Totally worth it for just this purpose. You select the deepest cleaning removal possible and it goes deep into the registry. After it's done you'll have to restart your computer. It won't come back even after updates.

The OP can transfer all their data to a new computer easily. They still have their old computer working to look up sources on what to do if they run into a snag and would also be able to contact the computer manufacturer or dealer or microsoft for tech support if they run into a snag. It is just a matter if they want somebody else to transfer the data or them transfer their data. You will have to reload some software on your new computer but it will pick up the files once they are transferred to the new computer.

I think windows even has an app that will guide you through the transfer so it keeps the files organized in the way you have them organized on your existing computer. The computer manufacturer or dealer or microsoft will guide you with any questions.

You will probably have free support with microsoft and/or the dealer/manufacturer for a short time. Getting support will be free for a little bit.

It won't be free because you have to spend your time but you can do it with free support.

I would personally recommend an new computer. The modern computer equipment is build to operate W11 flawlessly and your new equipment begins a fresh economic life. Adding 11 on a 10 machine always comes with risks, increases with old and cheaper component machines.

Your browser, whatever you use, can remember your passwords and when you sign it to your browser on the new computer, all that data should transfer automatically.

You got this TC :)

I decided to upgrade and bought a new computer. The upgrade worked on my old computer, but was too slow. Ah, what's a thousand bucks? It will be paid off with my 14th Property Data Inspection Report.

Having a Win11 built now. My instructions to builder "Please uninstall OneDrive and disable it via Group Policy so it does not run or reinstall." That ensures it's not just removed, it stays out of your workflow.
I wish I had known that.
