This is a fight they don't want they are in no position to bargain. Reduce your tariffs Canada of find out but I understand their tough guy stance they have to. All of these free trade agreements were payoffs to businesses not workers here. And those jobs provided a lot of good paying jobs to otherwise lower skilled people who do monotonous work on assembly lines. Trumps actions would be lauded if he were a democrat.

I guess that's why he negotiated a review clause in the USMCA (2026) which gives us the option of scrapping it unless fairer trade practices are realized, ie 25% tariffs as a negotiating ploy or the way forward. Sounds like a winning plan to me
