After doing an appraisal for a large bank in a new construction condo project, I received a call from A and N Mortgage asking me to send them my license, E&O, and resume to add to their list.

I then sent the following email:
"Are you an AMC? Is this lender direct work? If you sell your loans to other entities, who are your top three clients? What is your typical fee for a conventional 1004? and an FHA 1004? Thanks.
If you are contacting me for a specific, one time file, please send me the engagement letter and I will respond promptly. Thank you again for your interest."

I received the following response:
"I have a lady that will send the specific order, but, I need all your stuff prior to.

We are a correspondent lender that sells our loans to Flagstar, Chase, US Bank, Stonegate, Wells Fargo

Conventional is between: $325 and $350

FHA is between $350 and $400

NO AMC"

I have been very busy (both with work and family) and something about the phone call didn't seem on to me. I have now received two additional emails and an additional phone call in the last 48 hours asking me to be on their panel. I remember Lori (at Middleton) years ago telling us a story where someone was using an appraiser's license and information, and now feel paranoid at how persistent this guy is. Has anyone ever worked with them or heard of them before? If they're on the up and up, this sounds like a good client. Thanks.

Out of Chicago. Besides that I don't know anything about them.

I have never heard or worked with them...
