ACI CYBERSECURITY OUTAGE

Dart Appraisal was informed this afternoon that First American Financial Corporation, and its ACIWeb subsidiary, were the victims of a cyber attack and have taken their systems offline. Many of you use ACIWeb’s software to create and upload appraisals to Dart as well as other clients.

If you use ACI software to complete appraisals, we ask that you do not upload them to us and do not send us PDFs until we are certain that First American/ACIWeb have fully resolved any security issues. We will keep you fully apprised of resolution timing as First American makes information available. In the interim you can also find updates at https://www.firstamupdate.com/

IS ANYONE OUT THERE RECV'G NOTICES FROM LENDERS OR AMCs THAT THEY ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ACI FILES ? PLEASE ADVISE

There are 3 AMCs I am aware of that have paused acceptance of ACI xml files til further notice or next week to make sure the files are not corrupted (for which there is no evidence whatsoever). This sounds like "abundance of caution" type behavior, which is their prerogative til this issue is resolved.

Once ACI is back up permanently, I am certain that they will start accepting their xml and env files fairly quickly. I have 2 orders that I have completed (and run xml files for Friday night) that I have been told to hold off on uploading til they decide its OK to do so. I look at it as no biggie, under the circumstances.

There is already a 27-page thread about this issue, please take your further comments there to avoid duplication:

ACI still down ... did my first two Clickforms reports last night ... revisions of ACI reports ... I can make it work ... starting on 2 more new ones today ... more elegant than ACI, that's for sure .... got options now .... less stressed ...:giggle:

I'm with you on the stressed part. I didn't sleep well until I had gotten some reports delivered after coping with the unknown ACI outage for two days last week. I solved my problem by buying a Total license and am very happy with the software so far. I also upgraded to a better computer. The software and computer have provided some nice tax write offs here at the end of the year. So it's not all bad.

I had 2 computers (Win 10) die in the past 60 days. So I needed to deplete my corporate bank account because I was carrying over too much cash anyway. So I loaded up 2 new computers and a camera. (I prefer a real camera, not a phone for pix)

This is what I bought. HP Elite Mini 800 G9 Desktop PC with 32 GB and 2 TB w/Win 11 Pro. It retailed for $3289 and was on sale for $1389. I hope I know what to do with it when it arrives tomorrow. I don't plan to load ACI on the new computer. I have relegated them to a back up program, if and when they ever come back online.
