Any Thoughts Or Experience With Leica Disto X4?

I'm ready to upgrade to a new Disto from my old A5 brick which has frequent problems due to a broken battery door. I don't need Bluetooth and the X4 seems like a potentially good choice for measuring houses. Anyone have any experience with the X4? Or other Disto recommendations?

I have been using the Leica E7500i for about 4 years now. This is a long range laser that comes in handy on my larger structures. It is a little more expensive than the X4 because it has a couple of features that I don't really use. I have my eye on the X4 and I may go ahead and sell my E7500i and give the X4 a try. Yes, these lasers are expensive but any Leica Disto model will pay for itself. You will very much enjoy using these instruments.

I sound like a stupid commercial but I have no affiliation with Leica or appraiserslaser.

Still partial to the Disto with telescopic viewfinder, works in bright sun reliably to 200 feet and in dark basements, but, alas, looks like the camera viewfinder replaced it, and does not look like Disto offers the telescopic viewfinder option on the 'entry' level ($400).

I just checked the date on the back of my $100 Bosch (which still works great) and it says July 2011.
The Disto is $449.
If you put the difference ($349) into a growth mutual fund over 7 years, what would that be worth today?
Same measured houses. Measurable difference in finances.

Positives/Likes

1) Smart Horizontal Mode (very accurate)

2) 4x Camera Viewfinder

3) Size/Feel

4) Turning Screen

5) Ability to turn off beeping sounds when measuring.

6) Display of Tilt Angle on screen.

7) Can Measure Wall Angle less than 180 degrees


Problems/Dislikes

1) No apparent way to turn off camera viewfinder. Seems to eat up battery life. May need to use rechargeable batteries.

2) Manual could be written better.
