Got a postcard from "Masters Appraisal Education" (www.maerealestateed.com) regarding a course offering help against lawsuits.

Has anyone ever heard of this school or its instructor John Ohlin?

Thanks,
Tom

signed up for course

I just signed up for the "Developing & Reporting a Defensible 1004 Form Report" I hope they're legit. . . . anyone else heard of them??

The last time I heard of the Master Appraiser designation, it was the old Lincoln Institute out of Phoenix. May be the same group.

Before you take ANY course you need to check with your state appraisal board to be sure both the school and the course is approved by them.

You can look any appraiser up on the ASC.gov site, or go to the State they are licensed/certified in. He shows as being licensed effective 2001 per Utah, but sometimes these dates aren't correct. You can always ask the guy for his CV if you are concerned if he is legitimate or not.
