Word CAN convert Wordperfect. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, the converter needs to be installed if it isn't already. You also have to set the "compatibility" options and tell word how to handle the conversion.
I am a previous IT support person that specialized in MS Office and most other Microsoft products.
WENDY: I'm still trying to figure out the best way to insert digital photos into Word, and one of the AF members was kind enough to e-mail me his WP template. I tried 3 or 4 of the suggestions from another thread concerning Word but I've had only marginal luck using the table function (although I am familiar with the Table function) and I'm still looking for an optimal solution. Did Works open as a medium between WP & Word?
Indeed. That's the way to just put an image in the text field of a Word doc. If all you need is 1 or 2 images, I'd go this route. Then once the image(s) are in place, you can right click on the image(s) and one of the options is "Format Picture" and in that popup there are several options for how the text is wrapped around the image. (Right Click on image - Left Click on Format Picture in the drop down menu that appears - Then click on Layout for word wrap options once the Format box opens)
If you want a more formal appearance, click on "Format" menu item while you are staring at your blank Word doc, then click on Columns and choose 2 or more columns (instead of the default 1). Then you can have a column for your photos and a column for your narrative. (This is often how "newsletters" are built out of basic Word).
Play around with this for about 10 minutes and I bet you'll have a workable solution to your qaundry.
