Apex Sketch vX question about setting scale

I cannot figure this out. I've imported a floorplan into vX. I go to set the scale. The scale bar shows up and I set it to the ends of the wall. Double click on the wall length and it prompts me to enter the new distance. I enter the new distance, hit enter, and the image disappears. I cannot figure out how to set the scale and the online videos don't address it.

Who knows how to get this done?
