I am getting the point I need someway to track appraisal orders status. It's getting to the point I can not keep everything in my head anymore. Plus I just took on a partner so it's going to get worse! I searched but didn't find anything on this subject.

I would like something I can put on my palm and/or my web site. Since we will be working out of two different offices I would like something that could be easily updated over the web. Loading it onto my Palm (no wireless access in our area yet) would be a big plus. Then in the field I could check up on the status of an appraisal.

I have Excel on both my palm and computers. If there is a way to put it on the web site that might be a workable plan.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Jeff not sure what software you are using. But doesn't ACI have a tracking software allready installed. Does your software you use have a tracking software?

We are using DataBase Professional to create a database for all our files, who we've talked to, etc.

We use Excel for accounting, etc.

By putting the files on the server, we can access it from any machine on the network.

I think they sell one (DayOne) but my real question is not who sells tracking software but more about a way to put it to where I can access it on the web and/or my Palm since I will be between two offices.

Thanks Roger, will take a look at it.

I've never used anything other than WinTotal and Outlook. I'm a one man shop who was busier than a one armed paper hanger during the boom and a never lost track of anything.

Jeff,

I have developed an appraisal tracking software that is right now in beta testing. I would be happy to let you beta test and help me improve the software. Give me a call or e-mail me. www.weaverappraisals.com

Check out etrac at www.myetrac.com . I have reviewed other appraisal management programs and this seems the best, especially if you need remote access as it is on the Web. Your clients can check appraisal status also. There is a monthly fee.

I never recommend "doing it yourself" unless you have lots of appraisers, say over 20! Very expensive and a lot of hassle.

In the early 90s I had 2 appraisers plus myself and used a very simple DOS program which is no longer available. I used it every day. Now it's just me. My assistant and I keep track using our manual log...

Jeff,

We have a product called "Appraisal Tracker". It is a FileMaker database driven system that is very scalable. We have both database only systems as well as a web driven front end.

Filemaker sells a "Mobile" version that might work for you. It works with both PPC & Palm, and you can link your Appraisal Tracker database to your palm and take not only your appraisal order info, but your client database on the road with you.

Please feel free to contact us at www.tac-data.com or call 618-806-1915.

Jeff,

If you are interested in a web based appraisal management product that can be accessed from anywhere with multiple office support look no further. eTrac includes a complete office management system that integrates with any website. If you don't have one you can build one with our new eTrac Web Studio tool.

eTrac requires no additional hardware or software which means you don't have to buy a server or license to any 3rd party products. eTrac also integrates with ACI and Day One forms. You can also download all of your orders and client database at any time directly to Excel. eTrac utilizes 100% Microsoft technology including SQL Server the most scalable database in the world. What this means to you is that you have the best system on the market with no upfront costs.

We are extremely confident that you will choose eTrac that is why give you 30 days to try it out for free. I don't think anyone else makes such an offer. After your trial you can go month to month and can cancel at anytime. eTrac is a truly zero risk investment. Check us out at myetrac.com
