Caveat: Perhaps the dumbest post ever; however:

How does a "typical" residential appraiser do his or her job in San Francisco? Do they drive a personal auto, or use public transportation, or rideshare, or what? I'm a SoCal boy who is accustomed to getting in my car just to buy a carton of milk and don't know how an individual appraises (or how one even goes about daily life), in the big City. I lived in San Francisco for a few months about 30 years ago and might as well take advantage of the AMC presence everywhere. I'm aware that it costs much more to live there. I don't wish to waste anybody's time and appreciate your consideration and advice.

It's not the dumbest question but it may be the crazy one of the year or you may have suffered a heat stoke working where you are located . The Great Fernado says he sneaks over there sometimes so maybe he can tell you how anyone drives a car in San Francisco. Now if your next thread is should you move to New York City I will PM you a good Psychiatrists name and number -- OK - Fernando or Maybe the BRIT I think you guys live across the bay somewhere we need help over here -Urgent SOS Please respond : )

You better schedule me an appointment in advance because the reason I'm thinking about San Francisco pertains to a beautiful woman I met (ON THE INTERNET)!!!!!

Go for it. If it kills you, what better way to go than that.
