Does anyone know of a good attorney that knows USPAP and has defended appraisers in our state successfully before the commission? Private message me with a name and contact information, thanks in advance.

Wayne did you ever find someone in Maryland? I am looking for someone myself. Thanks.

Good luck to both of you.

Make sure your attorney knows administrative law. They can hire a USPAP expert, but if the attorney doesnt' know admin law, you could get screwed real fast.

MAA, Maryland Assoication of Appraisers had an attorney who helped teach their USPAP classes. He was very impressive with his knowledge of appraising and laws involved. I forget his name, but if interested you could contact them to get his contact info. Maybe someone will follow up with his information.

Thank you all for your help. I found a good attorney and was successful in wining my defense. If anyone needs help in Maryland private message me and I can give you his information. It has been a tough couple of months but now that it is over I feel more experienced and knowledgeable on what could go wrong or right when appraising. I am a better appraiser having gone through that ordeal.

Good for you, Wayne, and congratulations. I can only imagine what it might have been like (but for the grace of God go the rest of us).

When you've had a chance to decompress and if you think it is appropriate, maybe you can share some of the issues and what you learned; I'm not talking your specifics, but maybe the general issues.

Again, congrats!

Oh Wayne, that's great.

Congrats Wayne!
