Aurora users:

I am evaluating a late fall 2005 version of Aurora at home. Not used for office work.

When I try to start a 'new' report, Aurora automatically connects to the internet. Once that's finished I can disconnect from the ISP and begin the normal process to start a new report.

Frankly this is a *****, since I have dial up, and there is no way to stop Aurora from this automatic process once it begins.

Is this the current way Aurora works? I read DB's comments from their convention but don't have a current upgrade which supposedly uncouples the program from the web.

Per the stats, 40 'reads' have been made of my post above. No replies, however.

Does anyone have any insight on this situation???

Call tech, they might be able to help. But believe that it need to connect. But I want to say that you can turn fearture off. I hope. Good luck.

Well, heck. The Lone Ranger will take a shot at it.

I suspect this has to do with all of the net info that is used by the program. IDC, mapping, connecting to XSites, etc. They have just configured the program to run connected to the net.

The question I have is this: What happens if you unplug the Internet connection before you boot the program? Will it flash some messages about not being connected and then carry on or will it come to an ebrupt halt and do nothing?

Go into the order screen with a file open. There is a list to the left called options. All of these relate to auto features in Aurora that take you to the net. Turn all of them off. I think this will solve your problem.
