Be careful on your Repo Drive-bys

while photographing a house, an occupant challenges you verbally asking or demanding to know why you are taking photos - from the public road. He then proceeds to POUND on your vehicle - and instead of taking PHOTOS OF the obviously enraged (assumed true) person damaging your property and making threatening gestures .........while u reach for your cell and dial 911 throw the vehicle into drive ......remove yourself from immediate danger and await the arrival of the police (or drive TO the police)

.......instead......you decide to play Clint Eastwood and aim a (presumably) loaded weapon at an unarmed civilian? (assumes reported details are accurate).

Go to directly to jail, do not stop at Go. Necessary force laws apply.

Note: if the idiot was not "prominantly political" the article would have most probably been 2 small paragraphs.

(makes note: cancel RELO to Boise).

never mind, state forum... glad I don't live in ID.
I'll stay in GA where defending oneself in their vehicle is the same as being in their house.

Seriously, just picture some ghetto a## guy in a Ford Escort taking pictures of your home and pulling a gun on you when confronted.

Honestly, that just shows where we are as a profession.

I think the guy is a Realtor or just an unlicensed contractor.

That is exactly my point, no argument here. The banks/lenders are allowing their contractors to hire guys like that to perform work that would have been performed by a licensed professional in the past. Be it an appraiser, broker or inspector, they all generally have some level of licensing that requires background checks.

The homeowner has no idea if the guy out in front of their home is a licensed professional or some pedophile taking pictures of their kids. Right or wrong, it just puts us in the same light.

Sounds like an opportune moment for the borrower to plead forbearance. :)
