Hello,

I want to buy a laser measure.
I'm leaning towards Bosch, as it's cheaper and it has a color screen.
I couldn't find out on Bradford's website whether Inspect-a-lot can talk to the laser measure and transfer the measurements. It seems the measurements have to be entered manually. But once I'm done with the sketch on the iPad, I can easily transfer it to the computer, right?
Inspect-a-lot knows how to transfer the data, doesn't it? I assume that's the only mobile app I would have to use. Also, is the red dot easy to see? Do I need glasses?

Another question, is it true that Total is better than ClickForms (from a mobile sketch perspective)?
What about if I'm using Total (I plan to do that soon), what app would I use? Total mobile? And that would do the transfer to the desktop application?

For Leica, I couldn't even find it in the store (at least not at HomeDepot). Where can I find it so that I can get my hands on it?

Thanks a lot, this is my first question and this website is extremely helpful.

You need the D8, which has bluetooth.

I have the Bosch....it too has bluetooth. It is less expensive, well designed, lots of features, and you can use it in the shop.

Thank you for the reply.
It seems like the Bosch is the way to go

Thank you for the reply, as well to everyone who replied. Got the Bosch GLM in the meanwhile. Very nice so far.

Keep an extra pack of AAA batteries in your vehicle.

:) that's a great tip. Thanks for the reminder, I actually thought about it.

I made some measurements outside (everything else has been inside, and worked great). But outside it's hard to find the red dot. I can't rely on post-it cards (too small). Do you guys (Marty, Elliott) have a tip for me? Also, the indirect length doesn't work properly. Unless I get this working, returning it and getting a wheel. Thanks ;)

I carry a portfolio to all of my inspections. When I don't have anything to aim my laser at I can use my portfolio.
