(Moderators: I also posted this in the California folder: I hope the double-post is appropriate given the target audience: Appraisers seeing education and any/all appraisers in California)
The East Bay Chapter of the Real Estate Appraisers Association is hosting a presentation given by Mr. Jim Martin, the Director of BREA. Also speaking is Ms. Elizabeth Seaters, the Chief of Enforcement.
This is a 2-hour presentation with California approved CE.
This is an outstanding opportunity to meet our main regulator in California, and the Chief of Enforcement. Learn what the recent reshuffle (OREA to BREA) means, and find out about the significant changes with licensing that are coming with the new educational and other requirements.
Ms. Seaters was also the primary manager when the AMC registration went into effect a few years ago: these regulations and requirements have been in place for a while now, so participants will be able to ask about enforcement activities for appraisers as well as AMCs.
Date: Wednesday, July 17h, 2013
Time: Registration at 11:30am, Lunch from noon to 1:00pm, presentation from 1:15pm to 3:15pm.
Location: Handles Gastro Pub, Downtown Pleasanton (plenty of parking!)
Price: $30 for members, $50 for non-members. Price includes sit-down luncheon.
The REAA is a great organization that offers CE and networking benefits to members and non-members. The primary focus is on residential appraising, and the presentation and topics are typically focused on residential appraisal issues. The objective is to provide useful information that can be immediately used in the appraisers' daily practice.
Membership is now pro rated to the half-year cost ($67.50).
When you think about it, an annual membership and 14-hours of CE classes (with lunch or dinner, depending on the presentation schedule) averages about $27/CE hour (did I mention that includes lunch/dinner as well!). That is one of the best values for live instruction that is available.
For additional information and on line sign-up, please go to: http://reaaca.org/eb/index.htm
I very much recommend all appraisers, regardless of the license level or specialization, to join us for this chance to personally meet and speak with the Director Martin and Ms. Seaters.
Hope to see some of you there!
Denis
