This is funny. Fellow shows up right on time to install cable internet. Everything goes smooth. Gets the modem hooked up and showed me what lights have to be on to show it has a connectionto the Net. Even thought the computer is not configured yet the modem has connected to the Net.
Then he asked me about how many TV's I have and how they were wired yada yada yada. He said I might need to make a small change to ensure a good signal. We decided to go ahead and change the wiring since it was pretty simple to do. Remember he has a connection on the modem but did not have the computer configured yet.
He made the change and then we came back into the office and now there is no connection. After about 30 minutes this poor fellow was about to pull his hair out. No TV now, not internet. I was looking over his shoulder since I wired the house and we were both stumped. What he did would not cause this. We finally tied the TV straight to the cable outside where it comes from the pole into the house and no signal. He called the office and they reported no problems in the area. Here we sit both totally stumped.
Then he had a bright idea!! We went next door and asked my neighbor to try her TV and guess what? No service at her house either. He called the office back and they said they were getting lots of calls JUST after he called in the first time saying the service was down . Poor fellow was greatly relieved.
But now the calbe is on and I blown away at the speed. If you use the net much you want to switch to some type of high-speed access. I wish I done much sooner!
