How does one get past a CAIVRS issue for HUD approval? I had an SBA loan default in 2010 and bankruptcy that discharged the loan in 2016. Can't get on the FHA roster due to this problem.

I find it interesting that HUD who has ransacked the US Treasury for billions, is now concerned about appraisers defaulting on a loan . Good luck to you.

You will have to request a CAIVRS waiver from the SBA, not HUD. Sorry but I have never seen an-appraiser be placed back on a HUD or VA Roster after having a CAIVERS- You are on for 38 months but can apply for a FHA loan after 36 months but what you really need is the waiver from SBA. Good luck but Personally I would not waste a lot of time especially during Covid-19 because the SBA and HUD are back logged by a year or more : )
