California Licensing Fees Increased to $1,030 Every Two Years

This is getting ridiculous. On top of appraiser fees getting squeezed, now we have to pay $1,030 to renew our licenses because there are fewer appraisers. Somehow there's still a shortage of work.

Appraiser Renewal License



The Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers (Bureau) regrets to announce that in order to continue to fulfill its federal mandate and comply with state law it has become necessary to increase licensing, AMC registration, and course provider fees effective January 1, 2020. Given the increases in the cost of doing business, the declining licensee population and the depleted surplus funds that supplemented the Bureau’s operation, the current fee structure no longer supports the Bureau’s ability to complete its mission. The renewal fees will be:

I think that is about how much I pay between DC, MD, and VA. VA is the cheapest like $100 or something and they mail me a hard copy of USPAP.
