Anyone heard of this Company? Seems they handle all of the HUD REO work for Ohio and Michigan. They contacted me to sign up on their list. They make you sign your life away with a contract (hold harmless and more) and then offer to pay you $150 per appraisal within 45 days of inspection! I about choked.....Is there really anyone doing REO work for this fee?

There is a firm, headed by an MAI in the Toledo area that would compete with those fees!

Send that to HUD. I *think* that HUD mandates fees through the M&M Contracts.

I just can't believe anyone would do them that cheap. Its costs me about $20 in gas alone! Who do I contact at HUD to tell?

The Federal government normally requires that contractors pay "prevailing rates" for employees and professional services. Has anyone checked to see if this is required for appraisals?

No shortage of people willing to work for low fees, but I think that's a bit low even for them.

It's easy to accept those insulting fees when the appraiser is not the one doing the appraisals - just sends out cheap flunkies and signs off.

And as we learnd this week, folks working for those fees don't reduce the quality of their reports, they are just trying to feed and clothe their children.

Just received my second call from these people. Same fee of $150.00 I replied No Thanks for the 2nd time. Guess they are desperate for appraisers, but not willing to increase their fees!
