I was recently informed by an AMC that i am on the CIT exclusionary list. The AMC wasn't sure what CIT stands for, but believed it was citizens bank or Citi Bank, which have merged not too long ago. I have not done any appraisals for neither of these clients, and i don't know how I landed on this list. I can't find anything on the web and don't know where to begin. Is anyone familiar with the CIT exclusionary list?

Have no idea. Years and years ago I was informed by a client that I was on some investor's list. Could not find who or how. Don't even remember who my client was at the time, just remember it was a local bank. At the time I was pissed. The only way something like that could have happened if some LO wanted to get back at me for a "Low" appraisal. Long since forgotten.

There was a list of appraisers that Citi blacklisted that was posted on this forum about two years ago. It ran a mile long.

We can never know since they consider it proprietary information, but my understanding is investors and banks share such lists with each other, and to get on the list might mean a report was reviewed for one of them, and found deficient - whether an appraisal is genuinely deficient or a client is retaliating for coming in "low" is the great unknown.

Chances are most of us are on one such list at some point or other. There is as far as I know nothing you can do about it - if it severely impacts your business than it could be worth it to track down and try to get an answer about it.

Most of the time, if they did not file a complaint, there is No justified reason, it's only because they can (Bully Power) some weenies live for that as they have no balls.
