Oh, and by the way Oregon was the first State to issue a cease and desist order against an AVM promoter, but the board was sued and our chicken governor at the time relented.

Steven,Why not wait and see what my state board will have to say? We'll see if its members feel as impotent as you make them to be.
Maybe the governor has good legal advice or accumen. Maybe somewhere along the line, like perhaps in eigtht grade civics class, your governor learned that the government of one state cannot pass any law that is enforceable on the citizens of another state. It's not chickenry or impotence. It's the Constitution.

If you insist on filing complaints, why not complain to the board that has jurisidiction, the one gave the person his license?

There is a big difference between someone looking over an appraisal and coming up with questions about parts of it vs doing a review and an appraisal with signed certifications.

If this was perfectly OK, any appraiser anywhere could appraiser in any state, no matter where they are actually licensed to practice.

The sad, and outrageously idiotic, part is they currently can REVIEW from afar........... so much for upholding "the public trust". The End Users don't want the facts nor the truth - they simply "WANT THE NUMBER!" and.......NO ONE (i.e. Lenders' Chief Compliance Officer, State Banking Regulator, Fed Regulator etc) is stopping this lunacy.

The next step is like the guy on here last week who is in Nevada appraising a "difficult" property in Colorado. This practice is not improving the profession and never will.

Uh Edd, I believe Nick lives in CO now and just has not changed his location in his profile.
