Just curious if anyone has data about the actual cost of "building" a 10-acre lake.

I know around here the cost to put in a 1/2-1 acre pond runs about $15,000-$25,000 but have no data about something 10 acres.

Such projects are site specific and anything over one or two acre is regulated in our state which means it must be engineered. The dozing costs will relate to how much cut and fill is necessary and if a core is necessary (the center of most engineered dams are clay on the inside and progressively coarser materials on the outside). To prevent erosion, riprap might be necessary and if it leaks, drilling and grouting the leaks can run into tens of thousands of dollars.

Google Ray Scott pond building. It's fairly expensive to build a small lake. 10 acres is really still a pond in my part of the country.
