I am giving serious thought to attending the Valuation 2005 in Las Vegas. I want to go visit my daughter--haven't done that in over two years! Could be at the convention during the day while she is at work (making the trip a tax write off) and see her in the evenings. So if there is an Appraisers Forum during the convention I would be very interested!

I signed-up last week. The wife and I go every year. Tax write-off and all that. Are we planning a "forum dinner?"

I'll go to the convention in Las Vegas.

Can't decide whether to drive or fly though.

13 hour drive from Hopland to Las Vegas. Probably $200 in gas.

Flying:

1 hour to the commuter airport in Santa Rosa to get on the commuter bus to Oakland International (parking about $40 in SR, commuter bus $20 each person each way $80)

2 hour bus ride to Oakland to get there 2 hours ahead of flight time. So 4 hours.

1.5 hour flight, another hour to get baggage and a taxi or shuttle to the hotel. ($150 round trip each person)

So flying is 12 to 14 hours and about $420 total round trip versus $400 and 26 hours by car.

So,

The moral of the story Greg is .....

Is your time worth $15.00 an hour? to buy back for yourself? less the anguish of

stress?

Or do you want to pay yourself by driving at a leisurely pace and take in the sights?

Man, donno, last flight I took - makes me want stay home altogehter ...

I still think something in Las Vegas in March would be good.
We started out with this same approach last year. Are we going to get past this point this year?
