During which USPAP edition was the departure provision removed? I think it was 2004, but I don't recall exactly.

2006 Edition Changes
The major changes that you’ll find in the 2006 edition include:
• A new term and definition for the word “credible.”
• Edits in the definitions of “appraiser’s peers” and “scope of work.”
Removal of the DEPARTURE RULE along with consistent edits of various terms, descriptions, and retirement of Statement 7 and Advisory Opinion 15 relating to it.
• Addition of the SCOPE OF WORK RULE along with consistent edits throughout the context of USPAP relating to it and the addition of Advisory Opinions 28 and 29 expanding on its application.
• Advisory Opinion 2 was expanded to include the inspection of personal property.
• Advisory Opinion 8 was retired.
• Standards 9 and 10 were revised.

Departure departed with the 2006 edition! Actually...we still depart from some rules only now we don't call it that anymore. It's now part of Scope of Work.
