Do you call borrower for exterior appraisal?

Normally I don't call but to get better idea of condition inside and any additional information, I think I should. Client did provide name and phone number of owner.
Just curious do my peers call and ask information to the borrower for 2055 Exterior.

I typically will call to ask about interior condition unless there is reason not to do so.

Besides location, condition is major factor in appraised value.
I normally check the permits to see if any major change but none available.
I was going to call but I'll drive by and if it looks like a dump, I'll assume inside also not that nice.
