Just curious. Has anyone here bid & been awarded the field review contract work for HUD? What was your experience? These are directly for HUD not for lenders and require full FHA inspections etc. Any info appreciated.

If it's directly for HUD and not through one of their 'contractors', it can be very interesting work while it lasts. Have a friend in Jax that did this for a couple of years. The frustrating part was that hadly anything ever happened to the blantant frauds he found. I think his contract was for $350 each review. Low for the amount of work necessary to do these, but better than any AMC.

I have has several review contracts with HUD.I worked directly with HUD and was awarded a range of appraisals to be done. They have thier own form with drive by and some interior inspections which vary from area to area.Get the reports in on time or they will fine you.Can be a good gig..

I've been doing HUD review work. Field reviews with interior inspection of HUD REO appraisals. Reports are on a proprietary form. Orders come from a HUD contractor, but not the local M&M contractor. Reasonable due dates and fees. I got a call out of the blue from these people and they've turned into a pretty good source of business.
