Hello! I am working on the FL trainee experience log and am not sure what to input for the experience hours as the form is a little confusing with regard to the hours and placement of hours in the form. Does anyone have a sample or personal example they wouldn't mind sharing? Maybe a few from the first six months and post six-months of experience. DBPR requires the first six months to be different than after six months...please see the instructions and form attached.

The form only allows the trainee to input hours on the first three spaces (see attached) and doesn't allow credit (from my understanding) for other hours pulling comps, photos, market info, income approach, cost approach, etc. I did the majority of the work on all of the appraisals I worked on due to having valued and inspected over 13,000 properties as a RE Broker.

I have attached the form as well as the instructions (see line 9 - 12) for hours info. Also does anyone know if DBPR will allow the experience form to be modified to allow more properties on the page versus only six?

Thank you!!
Mark

You should confer with your supervisor or board for that.

Hylopeeko, I appreciate your feedback.; however, I need someone from Florida or with Florida experience to address my questions.

My 2000+ hours of appraiser experience was in Colorado between 2017 - 2018. I no longer work with Colorado supervisor or the company due to moving to Florida for grad school. My previous supervisor graciously provided me the appraisal files so at this point i'm filling out the experience form for my previous supervisor to review. He has no experience with Florida paperwork which is why I posted on here so someone from Florida can help out. Colorado experience forms are completely different with requirements.

What is that Cyndy Lauper song? See your true colors shining through. Call Florida Board regarding their recipratory agreement with Colorado and have your questions answered by folks from Florida than Not that difficult. Common sense.

Sorry, Hylopeeko, if I've offended you. I've already spoken with the Florida Board. I'm doing exactly what they said to do, input Colorado experience into the Florida form.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I'm in FL but I don't know how much help I can be. Their form is a little confusing and the instructions are vague.

For the first 150 hours in no less than 6 months the trainee must be supervised at the building and site inspection by their supervisor which you use to fill out items I -III. As a trainee you fill out all the items no matter how long you have been a trainee.

If I misunderstood your question explain a little more and maybe I can help better.

Thank you Sunshine27.

This is very helpful! What a relief. Luckily the way we proceeded was the same as required by Florida appraisal law requirements. We inspected almost all of the 200 together per client instructions; however, I pulled comps, measured, took photos, data entry, etc. while he would review the reports for errors, etc.

Your input helped a lot, Sunshine27. I appreciate your guidance.

No problem! It confused me a lot too when I started filling it out. I read it 20 times I think and finally called a friend who just got her certification.
