I recently purchased this camera for it's wide angle lense feature. So far I like it but I notice that sometimes the pics come out a little blurry. I have it set on 1meg quality (mostly personal pics so far so I've had the quality higher than normal). I have it set on the forced flash mode (the dial is on the little moon) I've checked the manual but didn't find much help.

Has anyone come across this problem?

Thanks

I have that camera but haven't used it much yet. I have noticed that when the dial gets moved to settings besides 'auto' I often get blurry pics. I don't know a lot about photography but I think that blurry might be a result of slower shutter speeds? And it makes it slower when it thinks it needs to allow more time to let light in? I guess I'm saying can you use another setting besides the nighttime one?

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will reply. :)

The little moon is for night scenes. It uses slow shutter speeds. The manual, pg. 32, recommends a tripod when using this setting.

What we use is auto mode and set forced flash when needed using the four direction button. The flash symbol is next to the right arrow on the four direction button. In camera mode, press the flash button until the desired flash mode is set. See pg 38 in the manual.

Thank you both for your replies. I checked the pages Bruce referenced and everything is now OK.

Thanks again

Hi, does this camera take pretty good pictures in low light areas. Such as a basement?

Thanks

I use the E510 version. The built in flash has worked very well in low light areas. Have taken pictures in basements and utility rooms where the only other light source was a flashlight. They came out great. The only trouble I have had with the built in flash is low light shots of large areas. For example trying to shoot an entire unfinished basement from one side to the other. The built-in pop-up flash just doesn't have the power for it. So I just take more photos of smaller parts of the entire area when I run into this situation. I might try a separate auxiliary flash some time but haven't gotten around to buying one yet.

Overall, have been very satisfied with the camera. I bought a 256MB memory XD picture card with it because it only comes with a 16MB card. Haven't come close to filling the the 256MB card in one day's assignments yet. Also bought a USB card reader to use when downloading the photos. You can download from the camera but using the reader seemed easier.

There is also a cradle for this camera. It charges the battery and accesses the memory card so you never have to pull it out.
