Hello everyone

My question is whether FHA has a definition for Gross Building Area as it pertains to the 1025 form. I see it in F/F handbook that it is GBA if finished but not in FHA. In addition, do they specify anywhere if a finished or unfinished basement in a 2-4 family mixed-use property is part of the total building area when calculating the qualifying percentage of residential to commercial

"The GBA is the total finished area (including common areas – hallways, interior stairways, etc.) of the improvements, above and below grade, based upon exterior measurements. Use the same method for calculating the GBA of comparable sales and rentals."

This looks like F/F definition? and does not address mixed use calculations toward percentage residential and percentage non-residential especially if unfinished based is integral to the fist floor non residential use.
