So let me start off by saying that it has been an absolute nightmare trying to figure out the education I need to sit for the state exam. I have taken the 200hr Appraisal Education Courses required. I have also logged in enough hours on my log book for experience. Now all I'm trying to figure out is what classes I need college level to take for the 30hrs. Does it matter in particular what I take for these courses or does it have to be specifically related to Appraisal or Real-Estate. Or has the rules for this changed. I'm getting a lot of mixed messages even from the appraiser who is training me (He's older and has been an appraiser for 40+ years). Anyone currently getting their licensing that can help me with the most updated and clear information. It looks to me I need the 30 semester hours from a college. Thanks in advance.

Steve, I don't quite understand your question.

1. Do you have a bachelor's degree?
2. Are you trying to become a registered trainee appraiser, or are you trying to get your cert res or cert gen?

1. No, no bachelor's degree.
2. I am currently registered as a trainee appraiser, i'm looking to get my full license as a residential appraiser. Just trying to understand what the most current requirements are and what I need to take to get to the point of taking the state exam.

Thanks for the info. It clears up some of the information. Is there possibly a link to the courses I need to take for the 30 semester hours. I have a few classes under my belt but I need more. I just want to make sure I sign up for the right classes. Looking to get my license sooner rather than later.

All kidding aside, Steve, Yes, it IS (was) an absolute nightmare trying to figure out the education/total requirements to sit for the exam(s)

I will admit, I got my CR back in 2009, but at that time, leading up to it, I literally JUST barely made it in under the 2008 requirements (literally by weeks)
I don't have a trainee, so I can't really speak to your exact situation, but just want to say I understand your frustration of the state and trying to get your Cert
I remember all that stuff like it was yesterday. A lot of frustration, hesitation, stress, etc

FWIW, @NP_MAI ... good info; Best of luck!
