I know that I can't convert ACI files but I recall reading on here several weeks about that I could convert my ACI picklist and I think data base. Does anyone know how to do that? I was going to give Total 2011 a try today and wanted to import some things.

Hi Fargo,

WinTOTAL Aurora can convert your ACI databases (not files), but TOTAL does not, because TOTAL doesn't include comps or photos databases intentionally, as it's our simplified formfiller. I had thought we converted text databases, however, and I just ran through through it on my machine that has ACI and TOTAL installed together. I was mistaken, so I need to see what the backstory is on that.

We do have instructions for conversion in the manual, which is accurate, in that we don't currently convert ACI databases, but do convert other formfilling brand's files.

Let me get back to you on why we don't convert the text databases. I'm sure there's a reason.

Thanks,

Thanks Adam, that makes sense since Total doesn't have a data base. I may give Aurora a try later as well. I can try that feature then. Is there a way to import my ACI quicklist to Total2011.

You can't currently import ACI picklists (what we call QuickLists), but I've got to look into what the reason is.

BTW, you can run TOTAL and Aurora side by side on the same machine, and you can move files between the two as well. Pretty slick!
