Jury duty may be around the corner. I want to inform the VA of possible time off but, it's been so long since I took any vacation/medical time off from VA assignments, I forgot how to do it.

I think there is a form involved somewhere that I need to fill out and send to the Phoenix office, but I'm not sure.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Contact the Phoenix Regional Loan Center by phone and let them know. That's the only way I know how to do it.

You should have an email contact for your RLC. Look at where you receive VA email bulletins and that should be your contact email.

Here's what I do:

Put your VA Appraiser ID# and the dates you need off (remembering to allow 5 days for loose ends, finals, underwriting (what is a septic tank?) type stuff.

I think I copied mine off an Phoenix RLC circular since we didn't have anything. Atlanta has major phone issues so I will only call in case of an emergency usually. If you email to the general address you use to request cases be suspended or when you've got an unapproved condo, someone will take car of it usually pretty quickly.

They would like for you to have a back up, but I have a different back up in each county I serve, so I just say go to next person on rotation.

"I request to have my assignments stopped from June 1 through June 12, 2021 for vacation that assignments must be stopped, prior to the time I will actually be out of town the following week including the weekend of June 13, 2021"

New assignments should resume on June 14, 2021.

Thank you!

If you call them, the Phoenix office just gets mad.

If you email them they get mad and don't respond half the time.

You can't hardly win anymore with some of their new staff and the way they have been doing things.

Good luck.

Wow, I have to say the folks in Atlanta are usually really nice. I've been working with some of the same people since 2007. There are several licensed appraisers and people that worked at assessor's offices as appraisers. Some people are working at home and it so they are dealing with IT and phone issues and the Portal is down right now so I can't turn in anything.
