I’m in a metro city in North Carolina and was driving in the car this morning listening to the #1 rated morning news talk channel in the city . A radio spot came on sponsored by HUD in which they said that “studies show” that “many” appraisals for black and brown people come back low and in some cases half of the value . “If you feel like you are being discriminated against on your appraisal please contact HUD”

I about ran off the road . What reputable “study” are they referring to because I have yet to find one that corroborates this myth . This is absurd to keep pushing this myth to the general public .

HUD is a typical Gov't agency. They often millions or billions of $$ looking for solutions to problems that don't exist. And if a problem doesn't exist, they'll spend more Billions creating a problem in order to justify their existence.

oh the 15th st woke jokes are still there...probably sitting around naked watching lowballed on loop  :rof:

I'm sure AF going to contact Mr. Pulte. That add must have cost us taxpayers a lot of $$$. Pure unadulted BS. Thanks for posting.

Everyone who relies on income....
Attempts to create a need for their services....
Unfortunately, that is true of government agencies who do not want their budgets cut rather want to justify their very existence. Make an issue to create a need for a budget increase. The correlations cited are very wrong. So, answer this. What incentive or profit accrues to the appraiser for distorting any appraisal to the low side in a mortgage situation. There is none. I don't know the people. I don't see any reasonable factor that would make me want to discriminate against anyone. There is only downside to such efforts. Lots of people have disagreed with my valuations. But when challenged to show me any similar property that is valued higher, they rarely come up with anything similar.

Stacy A's NGO was suppose to get $2 Billion. Had to go somewhere. I've noticed our local community radio station has been crying the blues over the PBS cut. I looked up their budget and it was $500K, just your little community radio, wow. Started on a shoestring and now its an institution with a full time staff of five.
